​Plein Air Painters: 18th National Juried Members Exhibition 

​Fuller Lodge Arts Center 

The Plein Air Painters of New Mexico return to Fuller Lodge Art Center for their 18th National Juried Members Exhibition on September 11. The exhibition celebrates the tradition of painting outdoors and the unique landscapes, light, and atmosphere that inspire plein air artists.

​Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra Concert  

​Duane Smith Auditorium, Los Alamos High School

The concert will feature Dvořák’s beloved Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” and Kats-Chernin’s lively “Dance of the Paper Umbrellas.” DALA will bring the latter piece to life with a special choreographed dance performance.The concert is free and open to the public. No tickets are required in advance, although donations will be gratefully accepted at the door.

The Los Alamos Arts Council Fall Arts & Crafts Fair brings artists and makers from across New Mexico together to showcase handmade art, jewelry, clothing, décor, specialty foods, and more. It’s a wonderful opportunity to shop local, meet talented makers, and celebrate creativity in the community.

​Bandelier Fall Festival

​Bandelier National Monument 
Even as the leaves change, the traditions of the people who called these canyons home remain.
Come see cultural demonstrators showcase traditional arts, crafts, dances, and more to visitors. Handmade items that are expected to be available for sale include pottery, jewelry, drums, carvings, and more.

25th Annual Scarecrow Contest​

It's the 25th anniversary of LAAC's scarecrow contest! The 25th is the "silver" anniversary, so this year's theme is "THE SILVER SCREEN: Celebrating 25 years of scarecrows on Central!"  Bring us your best representation of the spooky silver screen from the silent era to today!

Grammy-nominated Americana artist Shannon McNally brings her soulful voice, masterful guitar playing, and heartfelt storytelling to the stage, drawing from a career spanning more than 20 years and 14 albums. Big Band Dance

The Los Alamos Big Band is a 16-instrument 1940s Glenn Miller-style swing band. The band features the danceable music of the Big Band Era such as “In The Mood,” “String of Pearls,” “Sing, Sing, Sing,” and “Moonlight Serenade" as well as other dance music such as “New York, New York,” latin numbers like “Besame Mucho” and “Guantanamera,” and even “Rock Around the Clock.” We invite everyone to come dance, listen and have fun. Nor partner is needed, no dancing is required. All ages are welcome

Wonder on Wheels - The Art of Democracy

The Wonders on Wheels Mobile Museum brings an engaging, all-ages traveling exhibit to New Mexico, exploring the ways art and creativity connect with American history and civic life. Its current exhibit, “The Arts of Democracy in New Mexico,” features textiles, print media, political cartoons, protest buttons, zines, and other creative works celebrating the state’s artistic and cultural expression.

​Frission Wind Concert

Frisson Winds brings together acclaimed classical musicians and emerging young artists, performing a diverse repertoire for wind ensembles and piano. Members have appeared at prestigious venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Aspen, Verbier, and Ravinia. This performance features works by Beethoven, Salieri, and Mozart, including Mozart’s Overture to The Magic Flute and his iconic Serenade No. 10, “Gran Partita,” performed in its full 13-instrument orchestration.

Every year, thousands of people gaze in wide wonder at glowing visions of scary creatures, funny faces, cute animals, and fancy flowers. We encourage people of all ages and artistic talent to participate because anyone can carve a pumpkin! The annual Pumpkin Glow is held the Saturday before Halloween in conjunction with other Trick-or-Treat on Main Street events.

Come paint a spooky tablescape with Hannah. We will provide brief instruction on basic watercolor principles before you paint your interpretation of the spooky, autumnal tablescape. We will also provide all the supplies; however, if you want to bring your own palette or paper, you're welcome to do so!
